Decisive Moments in Your Data Journey Are Vital

The key to a sustainable data transformation lies in understanding what & when are you're decisive moments

After a couple of years, data transformations suffer from fatigue, and those running them start to ask if there is an end in sight. The answer has everything to do with decisive moments. Planning for decisive moments, is one of the most critical pieces to a data strategy.

So, why is it so hard to advance beyond localized data projects?

1. Executive Champion (s) are a Must

There must be a high-level executive(s) outside the data organization driving better use of data across the enterprise.

2. Data Literacy is Key to Funding

Enterprise stakeholders need to understand the difference between Data Governance, Management and Quality and be able sell it’s value.

3. Focus on Effectiveness

There must be an effective data management and governance program in progress that has been proved to work in an operational
environment.

4. Align on Your Data Issues

There must be consistency and alignment in
how data projects are engaging with business stakeholders to drive value across the enterprise. This may mean you need to do fewer projects in the near term.

5. Develop and Support Future Data Leaders

We have yet to assess a company that has over-invested in the training, communication and support resources required to roll out new data projects, approaches, etc.

Sounds simple, right? Of course not. These changes generally require a cultural transformation beyond implementing new technology, data projects. Successfully transitioning out of Stage 2 (Operationalized) can be greatly improved if data organizations adopt certain “philosophical approaches.”

We built DATALOGIQ 360 for the problems we faced as a data team ourselves. And from our learnings, we wrote a mission to guide everything we do at DATALOGIQ 360.
